From 18th to 26th of May, 2021, our Spanish partner Asociación EuropeYou hosted the training event of KA2 “Their right is your right”. The event took place in Torremolinos, Spain and involved 4 youth workers coming from each partner countries, mainly Estonia, Bulgaria, Italy and Spain.
During the training week participants had the chance to pilot the e-learning courses elaborated by each project partner together with the quiz area and videos produced. The MOODLE online platform contains seven e-learning modules focused on minority human rights as well as youth work methods and good practice that can be used when teaching human rights educations to young people from minority background.
Each project partner presented its own modules through interactive workshops, presentations and group activities aimed to test the knowledge and competences acquired. The training event contains a lot of non-formal activities which raised interesting discussions on how effectively minority human rights are promoted at EU level, and how youth workers can engage young people from minority background to uphold their own rights. Working in international groups, participants discovered deeply the main youth minority challenges in each partner countries, and through role play games tried to express what are the main issues and discrimination youth minority could encounter in their daily life.
Youth workers were introduced to the importance of minority human rights advocacy and also created their own local raise awareness advocacy campaigns. Divided in groups and with different minority human rights slogans, participants went around the city and tried to engage as much as possible people with the project topics, while promoting also the opportunities which Erasmus + programmes bring to young people.
During the training event, participants also had the chance to present their own countries, food, beverages and dances organizing an Intercultural night.
The training event ended with the feedback gathered by all youth workers regarding the materials included in the MOODLE platform, an overall project training evaluation and the release of Youthpass certificates to the participants.
